It is £295 less than the current typical cost of a UK gas and electricity bill of £1,185 a year(based on an average UK home paying by monthly direct debit on a standard gas and electricity tariff with a Big Six supplier). Average usage is currently defined by the energy regulator Ofgem as 12,000 kWh of gas and 3,100 kWh of electricity per year. If your usage is higher or lower than this, the rates will be fixed and the amount you pay will depend on your usage. Calculations correct as of 13/06/2018.
Terms and conditions
This deal is only available to existing customers who have previously quoted or bought through Compare the Market on any product and want to pay for their energy through a monthly or quarterly direct debit. The tariff rates are fixed for 15 months from the day Utility Point starts supplying your energy. This is an online-only tariff, which means that you must be prepared to manage your account online. This involves receiving and viewing your bills online, providing meter readings online and carrying out general correspondence online. There is a cancellation fee of £36 per fuel if you switch before the end of the fixed-rate period. Prepayment, Electric Economy 7or Economy 10 meters cannot apply for the tariff.
